Joyful Ringers
Handbells

Brief Description

The Joyful Ringers are Bethel’s children and youth bell choirs.  Today, there are two Joyful Ringer choirs—a younger choir for 3rd-5th graders (and new ringers) and an older choir for 6th-12th graders (and more experienced ringers).  The two choirs practice weekly and participate in worship once a month.  In the past, the choirs have also performed at winter and spring concerts and taken their show on the road to local nursing homes.

Getting Involved

No experience is necessary—just an interest in music and a desire to learn how to ring.  Any youth willing to make the commitment to practices and performances is welcome.  In addition to the training and lessons provided at each practice, Bethel also hosts a summer youth handbell workshop to provide an opportunity for new ringers to try out bell ringing and to help experienced ringer refine their art.

Time

The Joyful Ringers practice every week on Monday evenings:

Joyful Ringers I (2nd-5th graders and new ringers) -- 5:30pm to 6:00pm

Joyful Ringers II (6th-12th graders and more experienced ringers) -- 6:00pm to 6:40pm

Practices are very important, so ringers are expected to be at all practices.  The choirs share their gifts in church once a month.
